Jackson-o-Lantern 2013

A busy Sunday with Sunday School, neighborhood pumpkin carving (we carved Spiderman), our first big school project, and The Duggars came to our church!  We did take time to snap our annual pumpkin pics.  Not a single real pumpkin on my porch this year.  :(.  Probably the first time in a decade.     It takes time to go select the pumpkins, purchase them, load and unload and display, and we've just had more important things to celebrate and do this year.  We haven't even bought treats!  I'm lovin' my rose colored mums though!

Fun Friday

On a perfect Friday afternoon, Jackson, sweet Lilly, Ava and I revisited one of our local favorites, a newly revamped Brookshire's Wildlife Museum.  As usual, Lilly was ALL smiles.  We followed our time with Jackson's youngest cousin with a short trip to watch Macy play volleyball in Winona where who should we meet up with but MORE cousins.  After a final soccer game and a quick trip to the Tyler Rose Garden, cousin time continued Saturday night with a surprise visit by Ryder and Henry.

After the Parade

Pretty Girls and Rowdy Boys

Highlights

There were many highlights to Yamboree 2013.

But one of the highlights of Jackson's life really was riding on Macy's float with ALL of his Lyle cousins either riding along or watching from the parade route.  Thank you Macy for including us in this special tradition.  We had an awesome time.

Just Imagine

One of my New Year's Resolutions for 2013 was to make believe more.  Jackson is at the perfect age where he could LIVE in a fictitious world.  His imagination never ceases to amaze me.

Halloween at six is the perfect holiday.  Jackson and his classmates met up Friday night for a Trunk or Treat at the last home football game.

First of Three

Our busy weekend started with a fast trip to Dallas for a performance of Disney's The Lion King.  We had to hurry back to Tyler the same night because we had some important events the next day as well.  Friday night, we headed over to All Saints' beautiful Mewbourne Field where Jackson participated in Pee Wee football.

Jackson was paired with Blake, one of All Saints' team captains.  Blake was so sweet and attentive to the boys.  Jackson even got to lead the team in jumping jacks in the middle of the field!

Friday night was the first of three.  Jackson proceeded to have two more soccer games on Saturday and Sunday.  Thank goodness practice was canceled on Monday night.
